University of Waikato’s Screen and Media programme

The University of Waikato’s Screen and Media programme includes filmmakers, academics, and researchers that engage with radical film culture.  From studies on activist filmmaking to documentary projects that explore social issues in New Zealand and beyond, the programme invites collaboration internationally, particularly those working within minimal resources.  The cross-collaboration within the department of Screen and Media reflects a filmmaking practice based on utilising lo-fi resources.  The programme also encourages all students to overcome restrictions creatively by engaging in guerrilla filmmaking that develops their personal expression.
