As you know, there wasn’t a conference planned for 2020 so, after a wonderful event-packed 2019, we won’t be seeing each other for a while… but I’m very happy to announce that RFN 2021 will be held in Genoa next June (week beginning Monday June 21st).
It’s no chance that we’ve decided to host it here, as the summer of 2021 will mark 20 years from the Genoa G8, and we’d like this to be an opportunity for the RFN not just to look back at the role of radical film culture in the mobilizations surrounding that event, but also (and especially) to reflect on and organize radical film practices in the very odd present we’re going through and in years to come. We’ll be providing more details and putting out a call for proposals in the fall, so watch this space!
We’ve been going back and forth about officially announcing it due to the pandemic and all the uncertainties that come with hosting an international event in these circumstances, but rest assured that we’ll be taking care of each other and figure out a safe way to do this.
Enjoy the summer and see you next year in Genoa!
Elena (on behalf of the RFN2021 organizing committee)
