ACAB KINO is a self-organised cinema space for community, solidarity, counterculture and resistance. It is a space for and by people organising against the systemic oppression worldwide by Western imperialism, resulting in numerous ongoing genocides, state police violence and common fascism, serving only the capitalist powers.
ACAB KINO is a place for people fed up with the bullshit programming of film festivals and cultural institutions, that keep facilitating genocide and apartheid to maintain legitimacy. These institutions have clung to the goodwill — the thumbs up or down — of our growing fascist governments. We turn our backs to them and remember the words of Basel al-Araj: The beginning of every revolution is an exit.
ACAB KINO rejects cinema for cinema, art for art, poetry for poetry — but believes in cinema, video and moving image as a means for the necessary class struggle, anti-imperialism, decolonisation and the continuous struggle against genocidal regimes. ACAB KINO believes that All Cinemas Are Beautiful. ACAB KINO screens, discusses cinema that does not compromise. We require no institutional validation and serve neither cultural power nor capital.
