Filmclub Populaire curates monthly thematic film programs, primarily at the squat Friedensgasse, as well as various other autonomous venues in Zurich. Screening films is a political act for us. We aim to overcome passive and individualized film consumption and create a communal film experience. Therefore, our screenings often include Q&A sessions and discussions with directors or other guests, providing valuable context to the film content. We view the intersection of film screenings, guest contributions, and audience discussions as essential to actively engage with specific political themes and to foster networking and organisation among individuals and groups.
