Filmkollective started in 2016 by not just watching political films, but by watching them politically. Cinema was more than a medium, a mediation to address our common issues and practice collective thinking and self-care. With a simple set of rules encouraging autonomy, radical equality among the participants, and overcoming indifference towards everything that happen around us, we were able to create a community through de-creating things that had taken hold on us from the past.

Today, Filmkollective can rely on a network of trust, solidarity, and care among various social strata. And we are looking forward for the next step, putting this wheel into motion, creating the fair expression for the global south in which we dwell and strive for a radical alternative.
