‘A Year Later’ is a conversation about death. Focused on my friend’s experience of losing his sister to cancer, it retraces the different stages of grieving: before the passing, during the last moment, and after the death. The film is set in-between consciousness and dream, into a place where the anonymous narration in the form of a phone call transports us in-between temporalities, navigating the real and the abstract, the present and the past.
